How it all started

While working with individuals in the shelter system, it became evident that there was a need for underwear.  Residents came to access shelter without any clean underwear or none at all.  Thus in  October of 2016, A Brief Moment was born.  This unique drive aims to raise awareness about homelessness in Waterloo Region, while contributing to our community by providing dignity through the distribution of clean, brand-new underwear to the homeless shelters in the tri-cities.  Please feel free to follow us on Facebook @CKW.ABriefMoment and Instagram @a.briefmoment, or click the icon at the bottom of the page.

When I arrived at Marillac Place I had nothing with me because I was leaving an abusive relationship. I was so thankful that Marillac Place had items and community connections to be able to help me by providing hygiene items, clothing and undergarments. Thank you to the community organizations like A Brief Moment for supporting Marillac Place and helping me.

At A Brief Moment our hope is to provide dignity through the distribution of new undergarments to everyone, regardless of income, and inspire community involvement throughout Waterloo Region, and maybe one day all of Canada.
